What is Brightspark?
Brightspark is a lightbox designed to ensure you get the special bright light your body needs, even on the greyest of days. It gives you a real boost, making you feel more alert, more positive and less interested in hibernating under the duvet.
When buying a lightbox, make sure you can sit a practical distance from it.
The maximum recommended level of light is 10000lux, about the same as a spring morning on a clear day. Lux is a measure of how much light is falling on your eyes, so if you sit closer to a lightbox the lux will be greater. But you don’t want to have to sit too close so the other important figure is how far away you can be and still get 10,000lux of light. Our best lightboxes allow you to sit about arm’s length (50cm/20 inches) away or even further and still get 10,000lux, so you can use them whilst reading, eating, or watching television.
